One Once on Which Whatever What

Troy Gronsdahl
September 14 to October 20, 2018
Opening: Friday, September 14 at 8 PM

Performance screening: Saturday, September 15 at 2 PM
Roxy Theatre | 320 20th Street West

Working across diverse media, Troy Gronsdahl executes his work with a formal restraint and eloquent use of materials. Moved by the erotics of philosophy, the uselessness of poetry, and dumb yearning, his practice investigates divergent ways of knowing and how meaning is formed, unformed, and formed again.

One Once on Which Whatever What is an exhibition of works that includes an ongoing series of photographic monochromes, unfired clay vessels from his project Ways of Listening, and a new artist book. In conjunction with the exhibition, Gronsdahl will debut a two-channel performative video built around a remediated text poem derived from the Susan Sontag essay “The Aesthetics of Silence.”
